Dr. Merritt is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic surgery and one of the few members of the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). Dr. Merritt has returned to her hometown of Dallas, TX after spending time in practice at the largest private oculofacial surgery practice in Los Angeles. Dr. Merritt has a passion for the treatment of eyelid, eye socket, and tearing disorders. She has contributed to the advancement of the field of ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery by writing many peer-reviewed publications and presenting on topics ranging from orbital trauma to periocular cancers. Dr. Merritt is a native Texan and fluent in Spanish.  Dr. Merritt is available for consultation for reconstructive or cosmetic surgery in our Dallas or Plano office locations. 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

She completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. After a competitive transitional internship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Austin, she returned to  complete her ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health  Science Center at Houston.

Dr. Merritt pursued an additional two years of specialized training  in oculofacial plastic surgery at Eyesthetica and the University of  Southern California, one of the few prestigious American Society of  Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowships.
